Augmented Reality

vs

Virtual Reality

Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) are two technologies that redefine our perception of the world and the digital information we can interact with, but they do so in markedly different ways. AR superimposes digital content onto the real world, allowing users to interact with both simultaneously; it enhances one's current perception of reality, often through devices like smartphones or AR glasses. In contrast, VR creates a completely immersive experience that shuts out the physical world, transporting the user to a digitally created space, typically accessed through a VR headset. While AR adds to the reality you would ordinarily see, VR replaces it with a virtual environment designed from the ground up.
